Automotive Service Technician (Apprentice)

Reports to: General Manager

Role: Full Time, Hourly

Location: Clarke’s Automotive - Wellington County, Ontario

Compensation: $20-24/hr

As an Automotive Service Technician (Apprentice) you will receive hands-on training and mentorship from our seasoned Automotive Service Technicians and General Manager.

You will work on routine maintenance and repair jobs under the supervision of a technician. You will work toward becoming a technical specialist at Blueprint and learn to perform diagnostic and repair work in the context of technically demanding and complex tasks.

In this role you will work on a diverse range of cars, leveraging your skills in diagnostics and repairs.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics using advanced systems

  • Perform routine maintenance services, including oil and filter changes, tire rotations, fluid top-ups, and multi-point inspections under supervision

  • Assist licensed technicians with diagnostics, brake service, suspension and steering repairs, and other corrective work as directed

  • Conduct tire replacements and repairs

  • Service heating and air conditioning systems

  • Repair suspension, brakes, and exhaust systems

  • Complete visual safety inspections and digital vehicle inspections

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work station and shop floor

Requirements:

  • Business and/or technical education at a university/college

  • Current enrolment in a registered apprenticeship program

  • Knowledge of the automotive trade

  • Experience in automotive repair & maintenance

  • Knowledge of tire, brake and engine mechanics

  • Strong understanding of Tekmetric, or ability to learn

  • Valid Ontario G license and Certificate of Qualification

  • Ability to operate both standard and automatic transmission

  • Current member in good standing with the Ontario College of trades

  • Ownership of tools and equipment
