Blueprint is looking for a Manager, Strategic Finance to join our growing team. This role sits at the center of our acquisition and operations engine, leading financial due diligence on prospective shop acquisitions, overseeing bookkeeping for the network, and supporting FP&A as we scale. You'll work closely with leadership and external advisors to evaluate new deals while helping build the financial infrastructure that supports our growth. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who's comfortable moving between deal work and day-to-day financial operations.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead financial due diligence on acquisition targets, reviewing revenue quality, accounting policies, expense trends, and payroll to assess deal-relevant risks and EBITDA impacts
Validate revenue completeness and support tax diligence (corporate, HST/GST, payroll) across target companies
Review key accounting policies (revenue recognition, inventory, expense recognition and accruals, related party transactions)
Review payroll expenses and reconcile to year-end payroll reports
Review AR/AP schedules for non-trade balances, related party amounts, aging, and uncollectible amounts
Perform cash proof procedures, reconciling historical bank deposits against stated revenue to support completeness of revenue
Support tax diligence procedures across corporate, HST/GST, payroll, and government assistance filings, including HST testing
Coordinate with external advisors on diligence timelines and assist with post-closing integration and opening balance sheet preparation
Own day-to-day bookkeeping across the network: transaction recording, bank/credit card reconciliations, and General Ledger maintenance
Prepare financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L), lead year-end reconciliations and tax filings, and manage quarterly HST filings
Support budgeting and forecasting, and partner with leadership on FP&A as Blueprint scales into new markets
Track and report on key operational and financial metrics to support decision-making
Partner with leadership on financial planning as Blueprint scales into new markets
Develop scalable financial policies and processes to support the network's growth
Qualifications:
CPA designation
3+ years of experience in financial due diligence, transaction advisory, audit, or a related field; experience with M&A or private equity-backed businesses is a strong asset
Solid bookkeeping and full-cycle accounting experience, including reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and tax filings
Working knowledge of Canadian tax compliance (HST/GST, payroll, corporate)
Strong Excel/financial modeling skills
Comfortable working across multiple entities/locations and managing competing priorities
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work directly with vendors, advisors, and leadership
